About the Event
This course starts with the drawing basics as it reinforces the elements and principles of art. Students will learn how to draw from life and create their own compositions. The course is progressive and will build upon skills learned to include painting, printmaking, and design work. It is designed to allow the child interested in art to hone their skills or start from scratch. Come to have fun, create, and learn something new! Stephanie Peacock Beach has been a practicing and selling artist for the past twenty years. A native Texan, she lived in Boston, Ma from 2001 to 2012. There, she worked in one of Boston’s top art galleries and taught art at a local boy’s preparatory school. She studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and taught art day camps at various locations throughout Boston. A graduate of Tarleton State University and the University of Massachusetts, she has been a member of the North Texas and Cambridge Art Associations. Her primary influences include the late nineteenth century impressionists and American painters John Singer Sargent and Edward Hopper. Artist’s statement: I love painting what I see and capturing that moment by grabbing light with the use of color. I have always enjoyed painting architecture, but in recent years I have gravitated toward painting homes. There’s something so personal about painting a home for someone. Whether it’s their current home, recent past home, or the home they grew up in, it can be a wonderful way to preserve those memories. I also enjoy painting special places, landscapes, or vacation spots. As I have been re-discovering Fort Worth and the surrounding areas, I have had fun painting notable landmarks and landscapes as well. I have taught art for over ten years. I enjoy cultivating an interest in art for people of all ages. I absolutely love teaching and feel very excited to come home to Stephenville and collaborate with the CTFAC.
